There’s something special about camping right on the river during the summer. Waking up to the soothing sound of rushing water, breathing in the mountain air, taking a swim in the cool water, enjoying the campfire as you watch the stars. No matter the reason you end up in the Lost Sierra, there is adventure to be had! Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, off-roading and so much more are all close by. Sounds pretty dreamy, huh!
The Lure Resort has 8 riverfront camping cabins set along the banks of the North Yuba River. A perfect basecamp for all your camping dreams. Some might even call it “glamping”. Each rustic cabin has a full size bed and a twin bunk bed, a covered porch with adirondack chairs, a picnic table and firepit. There is a newly remodeled bathroom facility which includes a shower as well as a large kitchen sink to do your dishes. Be sure to bring all your camping gear including sleeping bags, stove, and lanterns. We sell wood for $8 a bundle. We are also less than one mile to the historic mining town of Downieville. There is a small grocery store, some restaurants and a bar.
If you prefer to camp in your tent, van, or RV be sure to check out the various campgrounds that stretch from Indian Valley all the way up to Sierra City along Highway 49. There are also many lakeside camping opportunities off of Gold Lakes Highway. See the campground list below.
